Lisa and David, sharing a joyful moment as they reflect
on their journey with Neuro.

“After surviving years of abusive foster placements, David started at Neurotherapeutic Pediatric Therapies. He was malnourished, scared, shut down–and completely silent except for tantrums from his complex PTSD. He ate with his hands and was unable to dress himself. Every bite of food felt like a victory.

Weekly sessions of occupational therapy, speech therapy, and physical therapy began. Sometimes three hours a day. With his therapists’ patient and amazing skill, David slowly learned–to dress himself, to hold a fork, drink from a glass, use the restroom, button his buttons and zipper his zippers. Week after week they encouraged him. They made all his therapy fun and exciting. He swung in therapy swings and climbed the Rockwall to learn his letters and colors. He learned how to follow one step directions using an obstacle course filled with toys and stuffies. He put his hand in bins of beans and rice–food items that were once his mortal enemies! He put his bare feet in shaving cream. And the final miracle, he began to speak! We were all so surprised. We didn’t realize what a beautiful, wonderful amazing smart clever funny little person was inside that silent shell.

David’s been in therapy now for seven years. He’s my real life Pinocchio. The wooden child who had no words, wouldn’t talk, didn’t play, had no friends. Today, he’s the 11-year old in the schoolyard who plays tag with his friends, tells clever jokes, stands up for what’s right, and always has a kind word, even in moments of stress. Neuro gave the world a chance to meet an amazing person. You unlocked David’s soul and spirit and gave him a chance to live a full, happy life.”

– Lisa, David’s loving foster parent

Neuro & MCT have been delivering specialized care to help children and families thrive for 39 years. But, we don’t do this work alone.

When our pediatric clients come to us to acquire a skill they don’t have like walking, eating, or talking, we need occupational, physical, and speech therapists. When our clients have complex overlapping needs, they need mental health therapy and medical care. The families who come to our clinics usually face a healing journey that won’t be short, so we need perseverance and long-term commitment to see them through.

With all of these vital needs, what else does it take for our eight clinics to deliver care to our communities?

You.

As a non-profit and the only outpatient healthcare provider in the state to offer the full, therapeutic toolbox that we do, we rely on donors like YOU to ensure our families will have uninterrupted support for whatever healthcare they need.

Because of you, we can serve a majority (60%) Medicaid client load.

Because of you, families receive scholarships and select sliding scale fees when those interventions get overwhelming.

Because of you, our clinics are equipped with everything that specialty healthcare providers need to deliver the best possible outcomes.

Last year, resources to Neuro and MCT from donors like you exceeded $150,000.

Our client’s healing journey sometimes feels like climbing a mountain—with parents and guardians working tirelessly to provide safety, security, and love; with therapists leading the training, giving them the tools to grow stronger, climb higher; and with our donors, lining the whole of the trail, cheering these incredible kids along, all the way up to the summit.

This year’s Give4Kids 2024 is a month-long campaign to support our Scholarships4 Kids program. This year, our goal is $30,000.

Let’s keep removing barriers to care, and cheering on our communities together.

Don’t miss out!

Give4Kids 2024 runs Dec. 3rd through Dec. 31st, 2024.

Play your part in providing continuity of care for children and families in Neuro and MCT clinics. 100% of your donation will help deliver the state’s most comprehensive and accessible care for kids living with development and behavioral delays and disorders.

Thermometer graphic for our campaign represented through a dashed line from top to bottom--there are little loops in the path. At the bottom is the Start, and that's where we are at our campaign, represented by a little boy with a backpack and cane. There is a single blue heart next to him. Along the path, there are bushes, a tree, rocks, a river, and at the very end, a lotus representing Healing and our goal of $30,000.

Every heart represents a donor helping our clients on their path to healing! ❤
