Assessments are typically one hour. During which the therapist meets with the client (and, depending on client’s age and needs, parents/caregivers/family/other support) in a confidential setting (typically the therapist’s office or playroom, or virtually if telehealth) to establish a trusting relationship and to assess the client for a mental health diagnosis and recommendations for treatment.
Questions will be asked to the client (and/or parent/caregiver) in relation to personal history, family history, relevant life events, current stressors, symptoms, concerns, and goals for therapy.
